FTTH in Duisburg

Wolken-ASM: With the start of construction of the fiber optic network in "Fiber To The Home" (FTTH) design, around 9,000 private households and 450 companies will receive a fiber connection with transmission rates of up to 1,000 megabits per second.

Technical Scope

  • Installation of FTTH (Fiber to the Home) connections for over 9,000 households and 450 businesses
  • Comprehensive network planning and documentation
  • Supply of fiber optics directly to apartments and business premises

Implementation

  • Use of advanced installation techniques such as microtrenching, air-blown fiber, and splicing
  • Deployment of network termination points (NvT), APL (Abschlusspunkt Linientechnik), and ONT (Optical Network Terminal)
  • Installation of splice cassettes for reliable connections

Quality Assurance

  • Air pressure testing of house connections
  • Splice connection tests and signal quality checks
  • Photographic documentation with geolocation data
  • Complete protocol of all installation steps
